On the afternoon of 6 May 2024, Dong Cheng, Chair Professor
of Cellular Engineering and Immunomedicine, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor of
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Han Xiaorong, Professor and Head of the
Department of Chinese History and Culture, Xiao Honggen, Assistant Dean and
Professor of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Zheng Pei,
Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering,
and other members of their team visited Rhein K?ster to conduct a research
trip. Xiong Xin, secretary of the party group and director of Zibo Science and
Technology Bureau, Qu Wenyue, member of the party group and deputy director,
second grade researcher, Chai Fuqiang, member of the party group and deputy
director, and Zhao Naijun, director of Science and Technology Development
Center of High-Tech Zone, accompanied the research leaders.

The visiting leaders visited the Sino-German Digital Economy
and Intelligent Manufacturing Empowerment Center in Rhein K?ster and other
areas. In the process of exchanges, the two sides discussed the technological
development trend, application prospects, and the opportunities and prospects
for cooperation.

In October 2023, ‘The Hong Kong Polytechnic University & Rhein
K?ster Intelligent Manufacturing Joint Laboratory Project’ was officially
signed. This project is the first joint laboratory in the field of intelligent
manufacturing in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Both parties will give
full play to their respective professional characteristics, focusing on
technological research and development and the construction of training centers
in the fields of digital intelligent production lines and human-machine
collaborative manufacturing systems, and will jointly develop a talent training
system for the future of the industry, so as to achieve the in-depth fusion of
education and industry and to create a new model of joint innovation and
cooperation.
